David Migoya is an award-winning musician whose musical roots began as a fifer when he was just 4 years old. Before turning to Irish music, he had already won the U.S. national championship as a fife soloist 13 years consecutively, including the only perfect score ever recorded in competition. In Irish music he three times won regional Fleadh competitions on the concert flute to compete in the All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil championships. Through the years he has performed professionally in a number of venues and with a number of artists including Carlos Nunez in Spain, the home of his mother, and others across Ireland, the home of his paternal grandmother. A journalist by trade, David has also been a flute/whistle/fife instructor for the past 45 years.
